The conditions of chloramine iodization of peptides of different nature have been systematically studied. The empirical formula permitting the calculation of the optimal aliquot of polypeptide without additional experiments is proposed; this method ensures the saturation of peptide molecules with iodine approximately to a level of 1 iodine atom per molecule.
